Education Eligibility
Institution-Specific Eligibility
The TAP class at FIU and UM is a 3-credit elective that typically qualifies for students’ financial aid. TAP does not cover the cost for students at FIU and UM, with a few exceptions.
The TAP class at MDC is a continuing education course and is not eligible for financial aid. Therefore, TAP will cover the course cost, subject to available funds.
Upfront costs covered by TAP through reimbursements:
Subject Area Exam (SAE) – $150 each attempt
General Knowledge Test (GKT) – $130 each attempt
Certification – $75
Drug testing – $40
Fingerprinting – $99
Costs NOT covered by TAP:
Application Fee (New MDC Applicants Only) – $30
